Schedule Visibility and Course Change Information for Students

  • Semester course schedules for students will be visible in Edsby once school begins. (Edsby Student Login Information)
  • If course changes are required they will be managed once school starts.  Grade 12s are managed first.
  • Schedules are subject to change; adjustments to timetables and class size is continually ongoing throughout the summer.  

School Office Closed During the Summer Months

The School Office is closed on June 27th and will re-open to parents on Monday, August 26th starting at  8:30 a.m.

Administration will be checking email periodically throughout the summer.

First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025.

The first day of classes, September 2nd, will be a staggered entry that day. 

Tours, introductions, and general information will be shared with students during these orientation sessions.

Students are only expected to attend as scheduled below.

September 4th and September 5th follow the regular schedule and classes will begin.

 

Parking Rules *New

Students will be required to park in the upper west lot(gravel lot) during the school year.

Each student that drives to school will be required to register their vehicle and pick up a school parking pass on the first day of school.

If the parking pass is lost there will be a $25 replacement fee.

Please Note: Students found parking in the Two Hour Parking, Group 23 Reserved parking spots, Hall of Fame Lot and Office Tower Lot may be ticketed by the Calgary Parking Authority.

School Start, End Times, Daily Schedule

Our bell times are 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM (Monday to Thursday).

Our bell times for Fridays are 8:30 AM to 1:16 PM.

There are multiple ways to report absences at NSS:

1. Preferred method:  The Edsby App. (invites for the application will be issued in the fall of 2025-2026).  Please check your email for this invite.

School Supplies

Grade 9 through 12 students usually bring paper, pencils, pens, calculators, rulers and binders for the beginning of the school year. Suggested graphing calculator for high school math and sciences is the TI-84(Texas Instruments). Chromebooks are available in the classrooms at NSS for daily student use.

Grade 8s are asked to bring the following:

  • 20 HB Pencils
  • 1 Calculator (with square root capabilities)
  • 2 Packages of Lined Paper
  • 1 Pencil Crayons
  • 2 Black Pens
  • 2 Blue Pens
  • 2 Red Pens
  • 1 Geometry set
  • 2 Binders (1 for Humanities, 1 Science/Math)
  • 2 Notebooks
  • 1 Ruler
  • 1 Sharpener
  • 1 Gluestick
  • 5 Duotangs for Humanities
